The involvement of the parent community greatly enriches the environment at St. Pius School. All parents contribute to the school through service that supports the school's ability to provide an excellent academic program at a reasonable tuition. Parents organize many fundraising activities, assist with classroom events, support the sports program, encourage enrichment programs and are involved in parish activities.

Families that participate in parish life and school activities and complete 40 hours volunteer service benefit from a lower tier tuition rate. The tuition rate is higher by $1,000 for those who do not meet the service hour requirement.

Each family is required to do 40 hours of service (for a two parent family); 20 hours for a single parent family. A single parent family is defined as a family with one parent being financially and physically responsible for the child. 

Recording Service Hours

Service Hours will now be recorded on-line as well as a description of the service given. Please, be very specific in your description of the service given. Service hours may only be reported by the parents/guardians of the students. Hours worked by students, siblings, family members, etc. may not be recorded. Please remember, hours not recorded are not credited. You are responsible for entering your service hours online on the FACTS Family Portal.

Service Hour Guidelines

Service hours are very important to our whole parish because it helps alleviate costs, is a wonderful outlet for your creative energy and is a great opportunity to give back to your community!

Hours are submitted online via the FACTS Family Portal at https://logins2.renweb.com/logins/parentsweb-login.aspx with a specific description of the services provided. 

• Parents are responsible for submitting service hours online. Hours not recorded are not credited.
• Hours are fulfilled per family: any parent, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle, etc., who is Virtus-cleared and has completed their LiveScan fingerprint screening may provide hours of service. 
• Volunteer Service Hours run from June 1st through May 31st; hours performed during the summer months – including the Festival – are counted toward the following school year.
• 1 hour of service  equals 1 service hour; however, each lunch duty session equals 1.5 service hours.
• A donation of a batch of baked goods is equal to one service hour. A batch equals 2 dozen brownies, cookies, snacks, etc. One hour will be issued per cake, pie, etc.
• Donations of baked goods/snacks for Day Care may only be made with prior approval of the Day Care Director and may not exceed 5 hours
• If there is time and/or items you have donated, or plan to donate, not listed below in the “Acceptable Service Hour” sheet, please email [email protected] and see if the donation can be included in your service hour submission.
• Participation in parish adult education events or retreats (i.e., RCIA, baptismal training, marriage encounter, nights of reflection, etc.) do not count toward service hours.
• Hours may not be transferred between families.
• Hours may not be banked from one year to another.
• Any family not fulfilling their service hour commitment for the preceding school year will be charged a higher tuition rate for the following school year.
