St. Pius Preschool is guided by a Catholic pre-primary curriculum. We believe that children learn best when they have the freedom to explore their environments, select materials that are self-correcting and given time to learn and absorb the concepts being investigated. The teacher is seen as a guide for the learning that occurs, and provides learning tasks or jobs based upon observation of the child. Lifelong learning occurs most efficiently when the individual child's interests and development determine the materials being offered for exploration.

• Ages: 3 years – 5 years

     Children should be 3 years of age on or before September 1st for the year seeking admission.
 

• Hours:
  • Full day – 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Half day – 8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
  • Extended Care – 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
    Extended Care is not a drop-in program. Children must be pre-enrolled either monthly or for the entire school year.

 

• Days:
  • 5 full days - Monday through Friday
  • 3 full days - Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
  • 2 full days - Tuesday and Thursday
  • Half days - Monday through Friday only

St. Pius Preschool is a 10-month program, September – June. The preschool will observe all holidays, vacations and summer break as listed on the school year calendar.

Children must be toilet trained, able to comfortably separate from parents, and interact positively with others. If a child does not show signs of readiness we will ask that you withdraw your child and re-enroll at a later date.
Enrollment priority is given in order to: siblings of St. Pius School students, St. Pius parishioners, Catholics at a parish without a school, and to non-Catholics.


APPLICATION PROCESS

Thank you for your interest in St. Pius Preschool! We are accepting applications for the new preschool year. 

• Please call the preschool office at 650-361-1411, ext. 120 to make an appointment for a classroom visit. The first visit is for parents only. You may then fill out an application online: click here.

 

• Submittal of an application along with all required documents is necessary to begin the application process, but does not guarantee enrollment.

 

• A non-refundable fee of $125 must be submitted with each application.
