How old should my child be to enter kindergarten?
Children should be 5 years of age by September 1.

What is the length of the kindergarten day?
Kindergarten has a split schedule. The early group arrives at 8:00 a.m. and leaves at 12:00 p.m. The late group arrives at 10:45 a.m. and leaves at 2:30 p.m.

Is Day Care available?
Extended Day Care is open to all students at St. Pius School from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Day Care is open on all school days, with morning only hours the day preceding Christmas, Easter and summer vacations. (See Extended Day Care Program section for fees and more information.)

How do I apply?
Sunday, January 27, is Open House following the 9:30 a.m. Mass from 10:30 a.m. to noon.   Applications may be picked up at the Annual Open House and brought back to school on registration day (TBA), between 8:00 a.m. and noon.

Please bring a copy of your child's birth and Baptismal (if applicable) certificates and a $35.00 non-refundable application fee. When you submit your application you will sign up for a time for your child to be assessed for kindergarten readiness. Applicants for grades 1 to 8 should also bring copies of their report cards and sign up to take a placement exam.

What is the admission priority for St. Pius School?
• Siblings of already admitted children of active parishioners
• Children of other active parishioners
• Children of newly registered St. Pius parishioners with a history of active involvement in their former parishes
• Children of families active in neighboring parishes
• Other applicants.

What are the tuition and fees?
Tuition rates for 2007-2008 school year are $4140 for one student, $7530 for 2 students and $10,945 for 3 or more students. Tuition for all returning families who are not Catholic or live out of the parish will be $500 more. This will increase to $1000 the following year (2008-2009). New families who are not Catholic and/or live out of the parish will be $1000 more. There is an annual nonrefundable registration fee of $325 per student to cover books, standardized testing and other program fees.

Is there any financial aid available?
Tuition assistance is available based upon need. Application may be made directly to the Parish Finance Committee.

Is St. Pius School accredited?
St. Pius School is accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).

How many students attend St. Pius School?
St. Pius School enrollment is 300 students in grades Kindergarten thru 8th grade.
